OEM Note
If you are intending to buy any of our OEM clocks, please read through.
The truth about the OEM clocks is, at the very first beginning, there was a Japanese company which wanted to produce these flip clocks. The R&D was
believe to be from Japan, however nobody really knows the real origin. Because there were no patent rights, soon later many other china manufacturers
seized the opportunity and create identical moulds and circuitries. The quality control became very bad as generations passed down over the decade.
Duplicates with lower quality are now everywhere. Some selling as cheap as half the price we are selling, which is unbelievable. There were also other
OEM models in the market (that we don't carry) selling as cheap as $20>. We had a few samples before in the past, and we were shocked how quickly
they went to the rubbish bin.
We import as many as 300 pieces for each OEM model, and we can conclude from our years of experience, out of every 10 pieces (brand new), 3-4
pieces will show problems. Either the time is very inaccurate, some flip blades couldn't flip properly or flip at the wrong time, or it simply wouldn't move.
And out of the other 6 pieces, perhaps 1 or 2 pieces will fail after awhile. THIS IS THE REAL TRUTH, and it applies worldwide, where ever you purchase
an OEM clock from. It doesn't matter which China factory it is manufactured from.
If you buy a OEM clock from us, this is what you can expect from us. We test all our OEM clocks, fitted with batteries, and allow them to run for 14 days.
We check if the time is in sync and within the buffer standards. Then we take the good clocks and repacked into the box with added bubble foam and
then repacked into a bigger box for extra cushion and prepare them for ready shipment.
Unfortunately, only OEM clocks offers the design of the "Raw and metallic" feel. And if you like the design of it, you have to go for the OEM clocks, as no
other official manufacturers like Twemco, fartech or Solari are willing to produce those designs. Having said all of these, the OEM clocks are not THAT
bad after all. Its the QC that is the problem. And we will try our best to filter out the faulty or the less reliable ones for you. We have kept a lot of OEM
clocks as personally collection, and they are running fine as of till date. The only slight issue is that, it does require you to change the batteries at least
every year, unlike Twemco which is more energy saving.
In summary, please rest assure if you decide to buy a OEM clock from us.
